Interstate 69E and US‑77 are the main thoroughfares into Brownsville and the corridor we come down. Straight run, predictable arrival.

Gladys Porter Zoo
Thirty-one acres in the middle of the city with roughly 1,600 animals across 377 species, open since 1971. The surrounding area draws family crowds all year.

Brownsville ISD Campuses
Hanna, Porter, Rivera, Pace and Veterans Memorial — BISD is the largest employer in the Valley. School visits open all 10 gaming stations on timed 30-minute rotations.

Palo Alto Battlefield
3,400 acres marking the first battle of the Mexican-American War in 1846, a national historical park since 1996. Open ground and generous lots on this side of town.

Boca Chica Boulevard
State Highway 4 runs east out of the city as Boca Chica Boulevard toward the coast and the SpaceX Starbase site. Wide commercial lots along it park a bus with no trouble.

Resaca de la Palma
The second Mexican-American War battlefield sits inside the city too, and the state park there is open ground. Level space like this is what the bus needs.
Charro Days runs in late February and has since 1937 — the city fills up, so book around it early.
